As Term 3 draws to a close, it provides us with a fitting moment to pause and reflect on the journey we've collectively embarked on over the past ten weeks. This term has been marked by growth, challenges, and significant achievements, and I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to our committed staff, as well as the unwavering support of our students and families.
In the recent fortnight, we conducted Grade 5 interviews for prospective students looking to join our school community in 2025. Additionally, we commenced our VCE trial exams, witnessed active student participation in SACCS sports events, and engaged in enriching excursions and incursions. We also came together to celebrate our vibrant school community during the end-of-term assembly. After such a dynamic period, it is imperative that we view the upcoming holidays as a precious opportunity to rest, rejuvenate.
In Matthew 11:28, Jesus extends an invitation to us all, saying, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." These words provide a comforting assurance that in times of weariness, we can find solace in our faith.
Rest and Rejuvenate
"Finding Rest" stands as a poignant reminder in a world that often glorifies ceaseless motion and unrelenting productivity. Rest isn't merely a pause in activity; it's a vital component of our physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. This concept is beautifully reflected in Genesis 2:2-3, where we read, "By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day, he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done." This verse underscores that even the Creator of the universe recognised the importance of rest.
In a survey conducted with students across all year levels, it was identified that sleep is an area for significant improvement. It is important to remember vital role that rest and quality sleep play in the lives of your children. Adequate rest is not a luxury, but a cornerstone of their overall wellbeing. It is during periods of rest that their bodies heal and minds refresh, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities that each day brings. As parents and guardians, I urge you to prioritise and support healthy sleep habits for your children. Encourage a consistent bedtime routine and provide them with a calm and conducive environment for rest. In doing so, we equip our students with the energy and focus needed to thrive in their academic pursuits and extracurricular activities.
As we step into this well-deserved break, I encourage each of you to take the time to rest, recharge, and seek moments of joy and serenity. Embrace quality time with family, engage in activities that bring you peace, and nurture your spiritual well-being. This holiday is a precious opportunity to replenish our energies, allowing us to return to Term 4 refreshed, focused, and prepared for the exciting challenges and opportunities that await.
Wishing you all a blessed and rejuvenating break as we prepare for what promises to be an action packed and rewarding Term 4.
With warm regards,

Celebrating a Joyful Journey: Embracing Term 4 with Gratitude and Excitement
As we find ourselves amid the first few days of the holidays we pause to reflect on the incredible journey of Term 3 and eagerly anticipate the blessings that await us in Term 4. The Faith and Mission team extends its heartfelt gratitude to members of our college community for contributing to a productive, holy, and happy school term.
Throughout Term 3, our school community has been truly blessed with moments of reflection, unity, and spirited competition. Our reflection days for years 7, 8 and 10 provided an opportunity for all of us to deepen our faith, connect with important causes and themes, and strengthen our bonds with one another. The reverent masses celebrated during this term, especially the Feast of the Assumption, allowed us to come together in worship and prayer, reminding us of the importance of faith in our lives.
The school house sports events were a testament to the spirit of teamwork, perseverance, and sportspersonship that our students embody. It was heartwarming to witness the friendly competition and passion between houses and in the staff vs students exhibition games.
As we step into Term 4, we do so with great excitement and anticipation. This term promises to be one filled with significant milestones and celebrations. We eagerly await the upcoming graduations, where our Year 12 students will embark on a new chapter in their lives. We hope they step boldly into the wider community with the faith-filled formation they have received in our college. The selection of new student leaders for 2024 is a testament to the leadership potential within our school, and we look forward to witnessing these young leaders take the place of our graduating student leaders and continue to inspire and guide our community.
Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to our school's mission. Together, we will make Term 4 a time of celebration, growth, and grace.
What a busy, fun, and quick term it has been. So much has happened over the last ten weeks at the CTK campus.
Many of the students have been involved in the following - the musical, battle of the bands, camps, winter sleep out, sporting events, write a book in a day, cultural day, creating a vegetable garden, reflection days, fundraising activities, ice cream truck visit, Open Day Evening, Yr 9 crochet/knitting community activity, College Mass, Father’s day and the list goes on.
None of the opportunities and activities available to the CTK campus would be possible without the commitment and energy of the fabulous teachers, support staff and students, all working together to make the term a successful one. Thank you.
As we enter the September holiday period, I wish all of our students, families and staff a very happy and safe break.
Take care,
Veronica
A positive end to the term and many things to celebrate. Firstly, I would like to acknowledge and thank the St J staff who have supported and led our students in such a busy and challenging term.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce a new section to my newsletter contribution called St John’s Shout Outs! Here are a few things that I have noticed and would like to acknowledge:
Wishing all students and well deserved break with their family and loved ones.
Take care,

As term 3 comes to a close there has been a lot to celebrate at Sacred Heart. We have had many of our students in the school musical ‘Chicago’ and they really let their talents shine. From the amazing singing and dancing every minute was thoroughly enjoyable and I congratulate all students involved in this amazing event.
We also had Course Counselling at Sacred Heart during term 3. This is one of the most important dates on our calendar for our year 10 and 11 students and families. It sets up our year 10’s as they begin their two years of VCE or VCE-VM and our year 11's as they get closer to their final year of secondary education.
Students at Sacred Heart need to reset as they prepare for Term 4 as it's a huge term at Sacred Heart. Students on our campus prepare for end of year exams and then year 11 for the 10's and year 12 for the 11's begin in transition.
Wishing all the students and their families at Sacred Heart a safe holiday and I look forward to seeing everyone back refreshed on Tuesday the 3rd of October.

Director of Campus Sacred Heart
More details about events will be included in future newsletters, as well as communicated on our social media pages. These dates are simply to give parents, students and teachers a reminder of important dates that will affect the whole school community.

Afternoon of Excellence
Last Day for Year 10 & 11 Students
Last Day for Year 7-9 Students
College Closes for the year.
We've had a HUGE amount of sport happening at Caroline Chisholm Catholic College over the last two weeks!
Lacrosse, Basketball finals, Students vs. staff - it's been a busy end of term. Congratulations to everyone who's contributed to our schools sports programs!
Community Health lessons cover a wide range of information, and recently our students analysed the amount of added sugar in commonly used food products.
First students had to guess which drink product contained a certain amount of sugar. Students worked as a team to discuss and decide which drink card matched the bag of sugar.
Then students looked at nutrition labels and converted the mentioned grams of sugar per packet and converted it into teaspoon metrics. Students then measured out these findings.
A hands-on approach to really understanding how much added sugar is added to the foods we enjoy!
What a week! From the 4th to the 8th, students participated in a huge range of activities.
These included Tai Chi, Burmese Dancing, Taiko Drumming, Origami, a daily Sudoku, Bollywood Dancing, a Gelati Truck, a sushi sale, prayers in a three different languages, and a dress up day where students were encouraged to wear traditional cultural dress!
It was a huge week, and students and staff all really enjoyed the activities
Our Year 7's have been working on their garden beds at CTK! Some of the girls kindly wrote a short reflection for us:
"The LM representatives have had the responsibility to take care of a garden bed each along with their classmates. The LM representatives and the vice representatives went on an excursion to Bunnings, on this trip they collected all the veggies for their garden beds and were planted in the garden beds next to the food room at CTK.
The year 7's have taken up the challenge to grow and produce their own veggies that they can later take home to eat at the end of the semester. Across the LM's the students have made a healthy competition environment of which LM can grow the most produce.
The students have learnt to take care of plants and making sure that they watered regularly and stay healthy. The LM Reps and the Vices have done an excellent job at planting their veggies and it has been amazing to see how the students are really engaged and interested in the growth of their little sprouts. Only time can tell how amazing these plants will turn out overall."

Well done to all the student who participated in the n The Kids Cancer Project's 'Write a Book In A Day' competition!
This writing competition requires students to work in teams to write a story of between 3500 and 10,000 words, depending on their division. They also need to include:
- Two human characters, one non-human character, a setting and an issue
- Five random words
- An illustrated front cover
- An illustrated back cover with blurb and;
- Identifiable Australian content
Students had the day to write their book, and there were some fantastic entries. Congratulations to all the students who participated!
The VET Music showcase gave our 2nd year VET students the chance to perform their upcoming VET music performances in front of an audience before they perform to the VCAA examiners in the first week of term 4.
All the students did a fantastic job - as always, if you're the parents or guardian of one of the students and would like a copy of the images of your child, feel free to let us know at marketing@cccc.vic.edu.au.
Prayer For A Restful Holiday
“Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy. For six days you shall labour and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work...” (Exodus 20:8-10)
God our Father,
We thank You for the opportunity to take a holiday and be enabled to have a complete break from the daily responsibilities and routines that guide us.
It is such a joy to have this break, and we pray that it will be a time of rest and refreshment where we are enabled to go quietly through each day with awareness and gratitude.
We pray that during this holiday, we will enjoy both spiritual, emotional and physical renewal. Finding rejuvenating rest for our minds and spirits as well as enjoy relaxation and respite for my body as well.
May we be ever mindful of those for whom holidays are not a reality, and choose to use our holiday time wisely. May we just as equally embrace these weeks as a chance to support and express love for our families and friends.
Amen.
