Prayer For A Restful Holiday

“Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy. For six days you shall labour and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work...” (Exodus 20:8-10)

God our Father,

We thank You for the opportunity to take a holiday and be enabled to have a complete break from the daily responsibilities and routines that guide us.

It is such a joy to have this break, and we pray that it will be a time of rest and refreshment where we are enabled to go quietly through each day with awareness and gratitude.

We pray that during this holiday, we will enjoy both spiritual, emotional and physical renewal. Finding rejuvenating rest for our minds and spirits as well as enjoy relaxation and respite for my body as well.

May we be ever mindful of those for whom holidays are not a reality, and choose to use our holiday time wisely. May we just as equally embrace these weeks as a chance to support and express love for our families and friends.
