Caroline Chisholm Catholic College stages an extensive annual calendar of performing arts events, including: drama and dance performances from Years 7 to 10, VCE Drama and Dance ensemble and individual performance showcases and a musical.
Our performing arts community is supportive and creative, enabling students to gain valuable experience and build self-confidence and interpersonal skills. The opportunities aren’t just in the spotlight – a range of backstage crew roles are also available. The College theatre, the Quin Auditorium, provides excellent facilities for students.
We also welcome the opportunity to step into the community with performances, collaborations and excursions to view professional performances at venues including the Arts Centre, Malthouse Theatre and Melbourne Theatre Company.
In 2017 we introduced a new VCE subject, Unit 1 and 2 Theatre Studies. This subject is proving to be very well received by students and next year we will be adding a full length play production to our calendar; completely designed, directed and performed by students.
